kids today

To say we live in a different world than I grew up in, is such an understatement. The rudeness and disregard for the feelings of others is mind blowing to me. Foul language, really foul language is just everyday language now. I cannot relate to it. Please, thank you and excuse me [unless used sarcastically] are words almost unheard of.
Going out in public for someone of my age is an invitation to be run over top of.

I took a shower, went out and did some small jobs outside, while my hair was still wet. I came back in to go into my bathroom to dry my hair and found someone was in it. I thought it was my son because he had come home from work while I was outside. So I go sit on my bed and read while waiting for him to come out.
Next thing I know, I see a friend of my daughters come out of my bathroom, wrapped in a towel and going upstairs to my daughter's bedroom. Keep in mind this girl is a senior and my son is up there and he is 24.
Oh yes, we had it out! I just don't get it! I would never use a friend's mother's personal bathroom without being invited to stay over and asking if I could use it! Ahhhhh! And it's always something.
I'm too old for this mess.... Kids move on out.....

Questions and Answers

It seems the older I get the less I know. I've often heard others say the same kind of thing. I've learned a lot through experiences both good and bad, mostly bad. Those seem to hit me where it counts the strongest. I have learned from the experiences of others, through personally educating myself with reading and with others teaching me. Yet it always seems, just when I thought I was becoming a little wiser, a little more grounded something happens to pull the rug out from under me.
I admit it, I am scared, I don't
Many experiences in life have caused me to withdraw because those I reached out to have basically stripped me of more than I had to give and just kept taking, without any understanding that I could literally end up without basics. I find myself becoming hardened, afraid to trust, afraid to give and yet:
deep down there is this little flame that says, don't give up hope, don't become hardened.
I'm afraid, I've been afraid much of my life. I am stupid, I guess, I don't know what is truth anymore.
I try to trust in God's promises. I can so relate to the book and story of Job, except for the restoration part. I have come to think, for me that will not come until Christ returns.
Well Satan, keep slinging your darts until you beat me down as far as you can. I will never give up my faith! I will never give up my faith.
I may struggle, I may stumble, I may not feel God carrying me, but I will always know He is there and He is God!

Sharing the good and bad

In today's society there seems to be an ever growing problem with feeling a lack connection to others.
The world is fast paced and we are under more pressure and stress than I can ever remember.
This led me to create a blog where people with some common and some not so common interests can share their thoughts, experiences and adventures in life.
I do not claim any expertise in any area and so for others who don't either perhaps this will be a comfortable place to just chat and share. I hope it can be anyway.
I am in the state of Virginia.
I have 4 grown children and am a grandmother.
I enjoy gardening and the beach as well as photography and scrapbooking. I dabble in cooking and sewing. I would like to try canning vegetables and some new recipes. I would also like to learn more about gardening and making things from seashells. I would like to hear about the interests of others.
Perhaps we can help each other learn here.
